13 January 2012 - Crystal Grapes

These grapes are irrigated using CRYSTAL clear mountain water obtained directly from the Winterhoek Mountain Range (translated Winter Corner Mountains). This range of mountains runs between  the towns of Citrusdal to Tulbagh in the Western Cape.  The Winterhoek Mountains are not extremely high by world standards (2 .077m) but are characteristic in the way that there are no foothills and the mountains rise directly from the valley floor.  The mountains form part of the Cape Fold Belt. A large area of the mountains is a conservation area for fynbos and wild life. The water from these mountains runs in abundance throughout the year and is as clean and pristine as nature intended.

Here at  De Groot International BV, food safety is a top priority. By the use of Crystal clear mountain water, it is ensured that the product can be grown, according to the food safety standards. The mountain water also ensures that the grapes have a very good flavor. Different Varieties are imported, including Flame / Thompson / Regal and La Rochelle.
